Environmentally Friendly Food

For a Better Future

Emtomophagy

Entomophagy is defined as the practice of eating insects by humans. Currently eighty percent of the world’s nations eat insects. Insects have long been used by ethnic groups as cheap and sustainable sources of protein. Insects are considered highly nutritional; the majority of them are rich in protein, healthy fats, iron, and calcium. Along with the nutrition benefits, insects also have an enormous beneficial impact on the environment. Significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions as compared to beef.

Ghana

Our target demographic is in Ghana, Africa. Located in Mid East Africa, Ghana is home to more than 28 million inhabits, most of which live in densely packed urban areas. The struggle to produce enough food for the growing population has sparked our interest to develop a sustainable and efficient method to create nutrient packed food with a minimal environmental impact. Our choice to make mealworm farms was carefully calculated and researched in depth to ensure it was the the best fit for this region.
